Simultaneous Interpretation
Simultaneous interpretations are the most frequently used form for conference settings. The interpreter speaks at the same time as the presenter, through technical equipment such as a soundproof booth, headsets, microphones… and the interpretation (target language) reaches the attendees through headphones with channels for each different language. Interpreters work in teams of two and on 20 minutes shifts for each interpreter. The guidelines on team size, established over many years of professional practice ensure optimal quality in a highly demanding work environment.
